Two Men Arrested for Killing 'Curious George' Collaborator

Alan Shalleck, 76, who collaborated with the co-creator of "Curious George" to adapt the monkey character to a series of book sequels and television, was found stabbed to death Tuesday and covered in garbage bags in the driveway of his home.

Rex Spears Ditto, 29, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, and Vincent J. Puglisi, 54, of Oakland Park, Florida, have surrendered and confessed to the murder and robbery. They voluntarily surrendered late Wednesday at the Boynton Beach, FL, Police Department.

Ditto and Puglisi allegedly stole jewelry from Shalleck and embezzled funds from his checking account. They have been charged with first-degree murder, armed home invasion, aggravated battery and dealing in stolen property.
